The History of Corporate Fitout Solutions

3 generations of history in building, a lifetime commitment to service and quality.

Aside from his obvious talents on the professional footy field CFS Director Mick Gayfer has a long history in construction and design stemming right back three generations to his builder grandfather. Having originally qualified and practiced as an Architectural designer, Mick was inspired to launch CFS as a way of bringing together his obvious design talents with his deep-rooted interest in the construction side of the industry.

Since its launch in 2003, CFS very quickly established itself as a niche Construction and Design business pulling together every element involved in the creation of quality interior fit-outs.  Mick attributes some of this success to the training he underwent out on the footy field where he learnt that hard work and discipline bring rewards:

“I learnt on the field that you only get out what you put in and that hard work pays off – these are fundamental principles that I have applied to my business too.” (Mick Gayfer)

He also recognises that “high-quality service is king” and puts a lot of weight on fulfilling all his clients’ fit-out requirements with a notably high level of personalised and professional service.

And these business ideals have paid off.  In the past decade CFS has thrived and grown from a two man operation to a team of six, completing small to medium jobs including a 3600m2 project for building giant McConnel Dowell’s head office in Hawthorne, VIC – a project which Mick considers a turning point for his business.  CFS’s diligent professionalism has also created a number of high-profile return clients on CFS’s books including the Australian Education Union and MWH Australia.

Mick takes a hands-on approach to his business and particularly enjoys meeting and listening to his clients needs and developing relationships with his suppliers, contractors and consultants.

“Real satisfaction comes from meeting clients’ budgets, requirements and leadtimes – satisfying all their fit-out requirements whilst providing the highest level of personal service.” (Mick Gayfer)
